What is hypnotherapy?
When we are relaxed, long forgotten memories and experiences come more readily from the subconscious to the conscious parts of our minds. If we try to “force “ these memories out it can become harder to recall them, which is why we sometimes cant remember something that “is on the tip of out tongue” but the memory pops into our heads later when we are least expecting it. This is also why we tend to dream at night when we are asleep, as subconscious becomes conscious with no outside interference. Perhaps you have awakened from sleep when you have dreamt and felt great, like a weight has been lifted from you. This is a similar process we aim to achieve in hypnotherapy, using relaxation to gently coax “forgotten” memories and emotions to the conscious mind.
